My sister has been inviting us up to the lake all summer but various things have kept us from going. We finally made the hour drive yesterday.
The boys were grinning ear from ear flying across the water in their uncle’s pontoon boat. They giggled those deep belly laughs trying to catch small fish bare handed. The highlight of the day was when the took turns ‘driving’ the boat.
So many family memories smushed into 24 hours. They’ll be talking about this for years to come.
I loved checking out all the beautiful lake homes & the sunset was breathtaking. We call sunrise/sunset cotton candy skies. They’ve never fail to bring a smile to my face.
I’m not huge on sleeping away from home. It makes my insomnia so much worse. Add in the struggles with kidney stones/infections and the new lower back nerve pain made for an interesting night for sure.
Vacationing with chronic illnesses is definitely a challenge. I’m glad we went even if my back is killing me now.
